poems and images from daily living
Sugary crystals
scribe each
form, as
a curtain of leaves
falls.
amid the swell of clouds
the moon sails, riding
currents, cascading with
a froth of stars
Within
layers of petals
a sweetness lies, drawing
me in, captive.
the rain falls, welcomed by
the soil, beading leaves with
crystal drops,
feeding the creek, the birds –
all living things.
the earth opens once again
to the emerging of leaves, the opening
of blossoms, a quickening of life
the darkness of night,
the light of the moon
the intermittent glow
of the lone firefly, seeking it’s mate.
cool blue center. Breathe the green
light of the forest. Absorb
the calls of birds, the cellular silence.
like whispers
of breeze
upon my cheek
form a plume in the sky
limned by the bright
face of the moon
